About

Holy Mission is a registered society in Kolkata, West Bengal, founded in 2005 and working on children's welfare and rural development. It draws on Swami Vivekananda's idea that service to humanity is the truest form of worship, and describes its role as bridging the gap between resources and marginalised populations. Its stated mission is to build self-reliant communities by integrating sustainable livelihoods under community leadership. It calls its approach an ecosystem model, in which regenerative agriculture, zero-waste management and child education are linked into a single self-sustaining loop. The organisation is managed by a governing body of seven members drawn from programme and finance backgrounds, and it holds Section 12A, Section 80G, NGO Darpan, FCRA and CSR-1 registrations.

Impact

Holy Mission's own site cites more than 10,000 children supported, more than 500 farmers empowered and more than 100 zero-waste villages, with work concentrated across West Bengal.

Holy Mission suits people who want to work close to rural communities in West Bengal on practical, field-level problems rather than policy from a distance. The work spans agriculture, waste, education, health and women's livelihoods, so staff gain exposure to several development domains in one organisation. It fits candidates comfortable with a small, community-led organisation that expects staff to build local relationships and see projects through from the ground up..
