About
Khan Academy is a US-based non-profit educational organization created in 2006 by educator Salman "Sal" Khan, with the mission of providing a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. What began as Khan's YouTube tutoring videos for a cousin grew with early funding from Ann Doerr and later the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Google. org into a global learning platform now used by over 185 million registered students, teachers, and parents worldwide.
Khan Academy operates on a mastery-based learning model, allowing students to fully grasp key concepts at their own pace before advancing to more challenging content, covering subjects from preschool through early college with a focus on math and science.
