NavSahyog Foundation

NavSahyog Foundation works on the principle of "Life skills. Then livelihood." Across 350+ villages in India, the organisation works with children aged 5-14 daily, Monday through Saturday through games, sport, story, and the soil of their own land.

NavSahyog engages 10,000+ children daily, aiming to reach 100,000 children with life skills by 2030. The organisation is intentional about gender equity: 60% of children in the programme are girls, and 97% of the team are women, almost all from the villages they serve.

Major Areas of Work

• Life Skills Development: Building foundational life skills and creativity in children aged 5-14 through daily sport, storytelling, and games.

• Environmental Learning (Prakriti Prem): Rooted environmental education where each child nurtures a fruit sapling into a tree, competing across village clusters.

• Water Conservation (Jal Vriddhi): Co-creating farm ponds and bunds with farmers to address depleting water tables while teaching children the value of water.

• Financial Literacy (Dhan Kaushal): Teaching accounts, budgets, savings, and enterprise basics to children and youth aged 12+.

• Youth Livelihoods (Yuva Samriddhi): Self-employment training for rural youth aged 16-24, run in collaboration with CBD-RSETI at Haliyal, Karnataka.

• Climate-Resilient Livelihoods (Vanya Samriddhi): Developing food forests on barren farmer land to close the loop from life skills to enterprise for adults.

• Jal Vriddhi: A water conservation initiative that has co-created over 280 farm ponds, percolating 200 million litres of rainwater annually.

• Yuva Samriddhi: Self-employment training for rural youth in partnership with CBD-RSETI.

• Vanya Samriddhi: Food forest development on barren farmer land for climate-resilient rural livelihoods.

Impact

NavSahyog's Annual Impact Survey (2025-26) collected 18,487 stakeholder responses across children, parents, and teachers, with 75% rating the change as High to Very High across all 26 life-skill and non-life-skill parameters. The organisation operates 18 village clusters across 3 states, 8 in Karnataka, 8 in Tamil Nadu and 2 in Nagaland spanning 12+ districts. Jal Vriddhi has created 280+ ponds, percolating 200 million litres of rainwater annually.
