About

Pure Earth (Blacksmith Institute Inc.) is a global public health organization whose mission is simple: solve pollution, save lives, protect the planet. Pure Earth partners with governments in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) to prevent exposure to toxic pollutants, advancing public health and economic growth. Lead exposure is one of the most dangerous environmental health threats to children worldwide, responsible for an estimated 3.5 million deaths each year, with more than one billion children believed to have elevated blood lead levels damaging brain development, limiting learning and costing the global economy an estimated $6 trillion annually.
