The Global Development Incubator

Global Development Incubator is an incubator that matches ambitious leaders, strong ideas, and capital with the implementation support needed to launch and scale transformational social impact ventures. GDI South Asia is its India based regional partner, working on systems change across agriculture, climate, livelihoods, and public health to improve outcomes for vulnerable communities in the region. The team is based in India, combining regional expertise with GDI's global network, and works closely with entrepreneurs and innovators, domestic and global donors, corporates, civil society, and national and local governments. GDI typically stays engaged with a venture for 24 to 36 months, long enough to test, learn, pivot, and scale, rather than a short term project engagement.

• Climate: Incubating ventures, including financing facilities, across water, waste, and climate smart agriculture for climate vulnerable populations.
• Health: Working with health systems and their intersection with climate risk to improve health outcomes and reduce costs.

• Migration: Supporting the safety, security, and mobility of internal and domestic migrants.

• Grassroots Circular Waste Collaborative (GCWC): A donor collaborative providing capital and technical assistance to grassroots waste entrepreneurs.
• Leapfrog to Value (L2V): A coalition of partners building human centred health systems in low and middle income countries.
• Migrants Resilience Collaborative (MRC): A grassroots led, multi-stakeholder collaborative of nonprofit, philanthropic, and private sector actors focused on ensuring safety, security, and mobility for internal migrants.
• Resilient Water Accelerator (RWA): Brings together governments, the private sector, and civil society to boost the resilience of 50 million climate vulnerable people living in water stressed areas.
