About

Triguna - The Science of Living is a not-for-profit organisation working on education, road safety, vocational training, health care, livelihoods and environmental sustainability. It is registered under Sections 12A and 80G of the Income Tax Act, and holds NITI Aayog and CSR-1 registration. Its stated focus is India's Aspirational Districts, with programmes mapped to the Sustainable Development Goals. The organisation describes education as a lifelong process that builds confidence and unlocks potential, rather than academics alone. Its approach combines technology, behavioural change and capacity building, delivered with government departments, corporate CSR partners, schools and community groups. trigu (1).jpeg

Headquarters: New Delhi, Delhi, India

Major Areas of Work

  • Education and employability: Digital skilling, job-readiness and entrepreneurship training for young people in rural and small-town India.

  • Road safety: Bootcamps and campaigns with traffic police departments covering helmet use, road rules and accident prevention.

  • Vocational training and skill development: Certified courses and sector-specific upskilling for youth, women and school dropouts aged 14 to 29.

  • Livelihoods and financial inclusion: Self-Help Group formation, bank linkage, credit access and micro-enterprise support for rural women.

  • Health and environment: Mental health, eye and dental camps, menstrual health and hygiene work, and tree plantation with awareness sessions on organic farming and water conservation.

Major Initiatives and Programmes

  • Passport to Earning: Digital and financial literacy training for adolescents and youth aged 14 to 29, run across 18 Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities identified by NITI Aayog.

  • Project Sankalp: Livelihood programme for Self-Help Group women aged 25 to 55, covering bank linkages, financial literacy, digital transactions and enterprise support in Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Haryana.

  • Road Safety Bootcamps: A family of campaigns including Safety First, Smart Moves and Ride Wise Stay Safe, using virtual reality accident simulations, street plays, quizzes, helmet distribution and Road Safety Ambassador appointments.

  • Youth Hub E-Placement Programme: Digital skilling for young women aged 18 to 25 in Rajasthan and Odisha, delivered with UNICEF and its How to get a job portal.

  • Entrepreneurship Development Programme: NSDC-accredited online courses in business fundamentals and sustainable practice for youth aged 18 to 25 in the North-East and Delhi NCR.

Passport to Earning is the organisation's largest programme. It targets young people in districts where formal training options are thin, and its site attributes 200,000 or more beneficiaries to it, making it the main channel through which Triguna reaches the aspirational districts it names as its focus.

Impact

Triguna has trained over 200,000 youth and worked across 100 or more districts and 18 or more states, reaching over 1,000 schools and colleges. Its programs include 50 or more Road Safety Bootcamps, over 200 digital and financial literacy workshops, and over 70 self help groups formed, alongside its ongoing plantation and vocational training work.

Partners

Aavas Financiers Ltd. is a named corporate CSR partner supporting the Road Safety Bootcamp program. The organization also works with government traffic police departments across Delhi, Lucknow, Meerut, and Ghaziabad, along with additional government and corporate partners.

Someone joining Triguna works on the delivery end of development programmes rather than at a policy distance. The work means running training and bootcamps in small cities and villages, coordinating with district administrations, traffic police and corporate CSR teams, and reporting against SDG-linked outcomes. It suits people who want breadth across several sectors at once, from road safety to livelihoods to health, and who are comfortable with travel and direct community contact. It also gives exposure to the CSR funding side of Indian development work, since most programmes run as partnerships with named corporate and government funders.
