Udayan Care
About
Udayan Care is a non-profit working with orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children, women and youth across India. It was registered as a public charitable trust in 1994 by Dr. Kiran Modi, and opened its first family home in Sant Nagar, Delhi, in 1996. The name Udayan is Sanskrit for “Eternal Sunrise.” Its theory of change holds that a strong family foundation is essential for a child’s development, so family strengthening sits at the core of its work. It holds Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council since 2018.

The organisation runs its own homes and fellowship programmes alongside advocacy work, so staff see the direct effect of their work on individual children and families. With over three decades of institutional experience, a presence across 18 states and recognised UN status, it offers a stable, established base for a career in child rights and family strengthening work.
