Strategies for Effective CSR at Azim Premji University

About the Programme

Strategies for Effective CSR is a short course for working professionals who already handle CSR at their companies. It helps them understand why CSR exists and how it connects to India's social sector. The course looks at CSR's roots in the idea that companies hold resources in trust for society, not just shareholders, and how this became law under the Companies Act, 2013. Participants learn to line up their company's CSR policy with what the social sector actually needs, and how to judge whether their CSR work is making a real difference.

Eligibility

• Currently working in a CSR function or team at a corporate house, with at least two years of experience in CSR.
• Working knowledge of English.
• Open to applicants of different genders, abilities, and social backgrounds.

Curriculum Overview

• Day 1: Why CSR exists and the theories and models behind it, approaches to development action, how state and district administration works, and the thematic area of environment and sustainability.
• Day 2: Thematic areas continued with public health and education, followed by CSR strategy, what impact actually means, how to measure it, and monitoring and evaluation.

• Learning built around participants' own work experience, using discussions, case studies, and group activities rather than one-way lectures.
• Sessions led by University faculty along with outside experts brought in for specific topics.
