Help youth, women, adolescents, and marginalized communities to acquire job-ready skills, take charge of their careers, and ultimately break the cycle of poverty

ETASHA Society

ETASHA Society short for Enabling and Training Adolescents for a Successful and Healthy Adulthood is a New Delhi-based not-for-profit founded in January 2006 by Dr. Meenakshi Nayar. Now in its twentieth year, ETASHA has built a reputation for grounded, high-quality employability and entrepreneurship programming for young people and women from India's lowest-income communities.

ETASHA's thesis is simple: the fastest, most durable route out of intergenerational poverty is a first formal-sector job or a viable micro-enterprise backed by the communication skills, mindset and confidence to sustain it. The organisation works hand-in-glove with low-income communities, designing programmes that meet young people and women where they are, and pairing classroom training with career guidance, placement linkages, mentoring and post-placement support.

ETASHA operates out of community-based Career Development Centres embedded in the neighbourhoods it serves. Programmes are delivered in partnership with corporate CSR funders, development agencies and employers, and the organisation is a recognised training partner of companies including Microsoft, TCS and Sapient. ETASHA is a registered CSR implementing agency (CSR Reg. No. CSR00002969).

Area of work

Across twenty years of community-embedded work, ETASHA has become one of Delhi's most trusted skilling and placement organisations for disadvantaged youth and women. The organisation measures success not only by training numbers but by the share of young people who actually land and hold a first job, and the share of women who go on to run a sustainable enterprise.

ETASHA offers mission-driven professionals the chance to do skilling right close to the community, tied to real employers, and built on twenty years of accumulated know-how. Roles cut across programme design, training delivery, placement and employer relations, women's enterprise support, monitoring and evaluation, and partnerships. For anyone who wants their work to translate into a verifiable.
