The Satyarthi Movement for Global Compassion (SMGC) aims to globalise compassion and ignite ‘compassionate action’ and ‘compassionate leadership’ worldwide to ensure justice, equity, peace, and sustainability for all. SMGC’s work focuses on:
- Establishing the Compassion Quotient™ (CQ) to measure and enhance compassion in individuals, institutions, and communities.
- Grassroots and community empowerment through compassionate leadership.
- Research, experiential learning, and training via the Satyarthi Centre for Global Compassion (SCGC).
- International dialogues and partnerships with Nobel Laureates, world leaders, and change-makers.

The Head of IT will be responsible for leading SMGC’s IT infrastructure, systems management, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, a strong leader, and highly skilled in leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency in a not-for-profit setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the organisation’s IT strategy to support its objectives and drive innovation.
- Oversee IT infrastructure, systems, networks, cybersecurity, and cloud-based platforms.
- Implement IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with leadership and departments to assess technology needs and deliver solutions.
- Manage IT budgets and allocate resources efficiently.
- Identify emerging technology trends and recommend adoption strategies.
- Lead and mentor the IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain relationships with external technology vendors and partners.
- Drive IT projects from planning to execution, ensuring timely and budget-friendly completion.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 15+ years of IT leadership experience, preferably in the social sector.
- Expertise in IT systems, networks, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and enterprise software.
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Excellent leadership, people management, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and IT governance best practices.
