Bharti Airtel Foundation is the charity arm of Bharti Enterprises. Since 2000, it has worked to improve education and living conditions for children and young people in rural India. It runs education programmes in primary schools, secondary schools and colleges. It gives children from poor families a free education and helps them grow in every part of their lives. The Foundation works with government, companies and rural communities to reach its goals. This role sits within the Foundation's Project Implementation team, which runs the Quality Support Program to turn government schools into lively, happy places where children build life skills alongside their studies.

Role

As an Academic Mentor, you will look after a group of government schools in your area and make sure the Quality Support Program runs well in each one. You will work closely with principals, teachers, students, parents and local education officials so that every school activity follows the programme plan and helps children learn and grow. You will work on your own with your set of schools and report to the Project Coordinator. The role is based in Ramanagara, Karnataka or Medchal, Telangana.

Responsibilities

• Conduct baseline assessments in each school you support.
• Introduce the Quality Support Program to principals and teachers and keep them updated at regular intervals.
• Run all programme activities, including those planned by the head office, in line with the programme's plan and approach.
• Encourage parents and the local community to take part in school development activities.
• Motivate students to lead school club activities.
• Tell schools about outside competitions and events, and help students take part and win awards.
• Plan and budget school activities, events and campaigns each month or quarter with your manager.
• Report all programme data accurately each month, or when needed, on the online MIS portal and other reporting formats.
• Work with block and district education officials and share the information they ask for.
• Follow all student safety guidelines, both inside school and during outside activities, competitions and trips.
• Prepare programme reports, plan the exit when the programme ends in a school, and support the school as needed.

Requirements

MSW, MBA, or postgraduate degree in Rural Development; a B.Ed or M.Ed is an added advantage Experience implementing education programmes; freshers are welcome to apply Preferred age up to 35 years Strong liaisoning, networking, and interpersonal skills Good facilitation, communication, and presentation skills Strong execution skills, with the ability to follow through on plans Fluency in the regional language of the assigned location
