It builds capacity in the sector through training programs, technical advisory services, and grassroots community WASH programs, and runs community WASH programs in 15 locations across 8 states and 1 union territory. WASH Institute also supports central, state, and local governments in implementing schemes like SBM, JJM, and AMRUT.

Role

A finance role for the School Water and Sanitation project in Bhadrachalam, responsible for managing accounts, budgets, donor reporting, and financial compliance.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain the accounting system covering financial management, analysis, internal controls, and reporting
• Manage financial transactions between vendors and donors
• Maintain reimbursement records for accounting and tax purposes
• Monitor expenses closely to ensure spending stays within budget across all line items
• Guide the team on procurement requests and provide financial advice to program management
• Handle financial audits for the project
• Prepare financial reports for donors and submit them on time
• Maintain files and documents to meet legal and statutory requirements
• Prepare books of accounts and financial statements, including receipts and payments, variance reports, budgets, TDS, and bank reconciliation
• Support administrative tasks as needed and take on other financial responsibilities assigned by the line manager

Requirements

• M. Com or B. Com degree from a recognized university
• 3 to 4 years of work experience in the development sector or NGOs
• Strong knowledge of Tally, MS Office, and Microsoft Teams
• Fluent in Hindi, English, and Telugu, both spoken and written
