WOTR has successfully undertaken responsibilities as an implementing agency, support agency, and service provider for different national and international projects. WOTR currently operates across seven states, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Rajasthan with its head office in Pune.

Role
WOTR is looking for a motivated individual as a Livelihood cum Agriculture Officer, based in Damoh District, Tendulkheda Block, Madhya Pradesh. The role involves developing systems to address gaps in agriculture interventions at the farm level, designing sustainable crop management practices, and providing overall thematic leadership and guidance on livelihood and allied activities to project teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop systems to address gaps in agriculture interventions, such as SCI method of cultivation and improving soil productivity
- Prepare Farmers Field School (FFS) modules for relevant agriculture interventions
- Design and develop sustainable crop management practices and support their uptake at field level
- Conduct policy and data analysis (quantitative and qualitative), developing investigation tools as needed
- Conduct literature reviews to identify climate-adaptive agriculture practices and support field demonstration and upscaling
- Collaborate with different teams, universities, and research institutes (e.g., ICRISAT, CRIDA, state universities) to undertake studies
- Contribute to research papers and articles, preferably in peer-reviewed journals
- Assist in and write proposals to donors and institutes for research funding on carbon capture models
- Provide overall thematic leadership and guidance on livelihood and allied activities to project teams
- Develop and implement livelihoods assessment tools and approaches
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Agriculture or Master's in Agriculture or a relevant subject
- Minimum 4-5 years of relevant field experience
- Knowledge of the local language and Hindi preferred
- Experience in the development sector an added advantage
- Preference given to female candidates
