Role
The Associate will support the Officer, Literacy through adding technical input in the design of the program, developing quality resources, execution, and coordination with various government and non-profit stakeholders. Based at the State PMU (Project Management Unit) in Patna, the position coordinates with Room to Read's State Office and technical teams to ensure alignment with agreed work plans and provides high-quality technical assistance under the FLN PMU, involving frequent travel to the field and regular interaction with education officials and partners.
Responsibilities
- Develop a thorough understanding of Room to Read's Literacy program design and project deliverables
- Support quality input at SPMU level, ensuring timely, efficient, and well-coordinated support adhering to government planning and guidelines
- Make field visits to observe district-level training cascades, classroom transactions, and suggest improvements
- Support analysis of field data, develop programmatic correlations, and flag issues for discussion
- Track program progress on key indicators according to the M&E framework
- Support participation in technical assistance discussions with state-level stakeholders
- Attend government meetings, discussions, and committees on FLN to advocate for enabling policies
- Interact with key stakeholders, including CDEO/ADPC/DEEO/RPs/DIET officials, to ensure delivery of program objectives
- Participate in IDTS workshops on material development, training module development, and training of trainers
- Support preparation of regular qualitative reports, case studies, and best practice documentation
- Assist in preparing implementation calendars, cash forecasts, budget outlooks, and regular budget tracking
Requirements
- Master's degree in Education, Social Sciences, or an equivalent field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the education sector
- In-depth knowledge of foundational literacy, language, and reading practices and approaches
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Proven track record of achieving results and working effectively with schools and communities
- Ability to travel regularly to project sites in remote locations
