U&I is a volunteer-driven organisation that works with children from vulnerable communities, including children living in shelter homes, so they can learn, grow and build a better future. Volunteers across Indian cities give their time every week to teach and mentor these children. The organisation believes that ordinary people, working together, can make a real difference in a child's life. Its national volunteer network is what keeps this work going in every city it reaches.

Role

As Associate Manager for the Teach Program, you will make sure classes at the learning centres run smoothly and that volunteers have what they need to teach well. You will manage 2 to 3 learning centres, guide and mentor volunteer teams, sort out problems as they come up, and help run U&I's national events through the year. This is a hands-on, grassroots role for someone who likes working with people and seeing projects through from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day to day running of the Teach Program so classes happen on time and work well.
• Manage the operations of 2 to 3 learning centres.
• Manage volunteer teams across cities, from their first class to their growth as leaders.
• Solve problems and handle concerns raised by volunteers.
• Mentor volunteers and Build leadership capacity among volunteers.
• Plan and coordinate national events held through the year.
• Coordinate with many people while running events and follow up consistently.
• Share the purpose behind each project with the Teach team.
• Create event marketing material such as presentations and posters.

Requirements

• 0 to 2 years of experience. Freshers are welcome to apply.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead work from start to finish.
• Proficient with Google Sheets and PowerPoint
• Strong leadership skills to manage and mentor volunteers
• Ability to lead a team of volunteers, run meetings and training sessions using presentations.
• Clear written and spoken communication.
• Able to work independently, identify needs, and act with minimal supervision
• Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities, including interruptions, deadlines, and limited resources
• Strong relationship-building and project management skills
• Willingness to travel once a quarter
