Business System Analyst in Hyderabad | Piramal Foundation
Piramal Foundation
Piramal Swasthya is a registered non-profit organisation supported by Piramal Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Piramal Group. It works to democratise healthcare, making care accessible, affordable and available to everyone, especially the most vulnerable. The organisation uses information and communication technology to lower the cost of care without lowering its quality, and partners with state governments to reach people who are otherwise left out. Piramal Swasthya works across 13 states in India with a team of more than 3,800 people, including over 450 doctors and specialists. This role sits within Piramal Swasthya's Health Tech team, which builds and runs the digital systems that carry these health services to hospitals, dispensaries and communities.

Role
The Business System Analyst turns broad health programme ideas into clear, buildable system requirements. You will study how care actually happens in hospitals, dispensaries and community settings, write down what the software must do and stay the single point of clarity for the teams building it. The work covers health risk profiling, OPD triage, decision support, referrals and follow-up, in settings where users may have limited digital skills, speak different languages, or work with weak internet.
Responsibilities
- Convert high-level business requirement documents and concept notes into detailed functional requirements, user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria and As-Is/To-Be process flows.
- Define how the system should behave for health risk profiling, pre-consultation OPD triaging, decision support, referrals, escalation and follow-up.
- Map how work is done today across hospitals, dispensaries, OPD settings and community-level interactions.
- Ensure solutions work for users with low digital skills, in multiple languages, and in offline or low-connectivity settings.
- Support the user experience team with clear functional logic, validation rules and system constraints.
- Collaborate with operations teams, developers, facility administrators, clinicians and implementation partners.
- Facilitate requirement walkthroughs, clarifications, validations and formal sign-offs.
- Act as the single source of functional clarity across the full delivery lifecycle.
- Define data capture and reporting needs for beneficiary risk profiles, OPD triage outcomes and programme monitoring.
- Support role-based access controls and data governance workflows, in line with government data security and privacy standards.
- Support project managers through development, user acceptance testing, pilot deployments and phased rollouts.
- Assist in creating standard operating procedures, user manuals, training content and onboarding material.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Information Systems or a related field.
- An MBA or equivalent experience in business analysis is an added advantage.
- 6 to 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst.
- Strong experience in GovTech, digital health, public sector IT or healthcare systems.
- Proven ability to turn unclear or high-level requirements into structured functional specifications.
- Experience working with government stakeholders and vendor-led delivery models.
- Strong documentation skills, especially BRDs / FRDs / PRDs / SRS, user stories and process flows.
- Skill in process mapping and system thinking.
- Proficiency with UI/UX design and wireframing tools.
- Knowledge of the public health domain and of healthcare software, especially EHR systems.
- Experience in functional and non-functional testing of web and mobile applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to work well with field teams and end users.
- Comfort working in complex settings with many stakeholders, and running demos and trainings.
- Useful to have: open-source whiteboarding tools such as Figma or MS Whiteboard, an understanding of Python / R / Stata / MySQL, and familiarity with SDLC, Agile, Jira and API testing.
- Willingness to travel 50 to 70 percent of the time, on a need basis.
Benefits
- Work on health technology that reaches vulnerable communities across 13 states in India.
- Join a team of more than 3,800 people, including over 450 doctors and specialists.
- Partner directly with state governments and public health officials on systems used at scale.
- Grow within a values-led organisation that puts expertise, innovation and humility at the centre of its work.
