Leadership for Equity

Leadership for Equity is a non-profit based in Pune that works to make India's public schools stronger so that every child learns and thrives. It partners with state and district governments in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Haryana to improve teaching and build lasting support for teachers inside the government system. Its teams create learning resources, train teachers, coach mentors and use classroom data to guide better decisions. Every programme is designed and run together with government partners so the changes last and reach more children. This role sits within Leadership for Equity's Future Literacy Initiatives, which bring computer science, computational thinking and AI learning into government schools through teacher training and hands-on labs.

Role

As Content Associate working remotely, you will create, test and improve lessons on Computer Science, critical digital media and AI literacy for students and teachers in government schools. You will teach these lessons in real classrooms, see what works, and refine them until they are ready to reach many more schools. Your work helps make sure children in government schools are not left behind as technology changes the world around them.

Responsibilities

• Research proven content and teaching methods in Computer Science, critical digital media and AI literacy.
• Create engaging lesson plans, learning materials, video scripts and teacher training sessions for government school students and teachers.
• Pilot lessons and resources in government schools in Andhra Pradesh, working with school contacts to plan classroom teaching and visits.
• Observe classes, hold user interviews and use reflection tools to collect feedback and improve the content.
• Review content made by peers to check that it is accurate, suits the local context and meets the review rubrics.
• Translate content into Telugu and proofread it so the meaning stays clear for teachers and students.
• Plan and lead training sessions for field and operations teams so they can use the new resources well.
• Contribute to project reports, support managers and take part in team meetings and spaces.

Requirements

• A degree in education, such as a B.Ed. or M.Ed.
• 2-3 years of experience developing and teaching STEM topics such as computational thinking, block-based coding, physical computing, AI and digital and media literacy.
• 2 years of teaching experience in middle schools, or prior fellowship experience.
• Experience creating content and lesson plans, with a working knowledge of instructional design.
• Excellent spoken and written Telugu and English.
• Comfort with Google Suite, Microsoft Excel and Canva, and an interest in using AI tools to build learning content.
• Based anywhere in Andhra Pradesh or Telangana, able to travel about half the time to 2-3 schools in Andhra Pradesh and occasionally to the Pune office, and able to join within a month.
• Experience working in Andhra Pradesh or Telangana is a plus.
