SBI Foundation is the CSR arm of State Bank of India. It was set up in 2015 to carry out the social programmes of the Bank and its subsidiaries. The Foundation works for fair and lasting development, with a focus on vulnerable and marginalised communities across India. It funds and guides programmes that NGO partners run on the ground.
Role
As Deputy Manager - Women Empowerment, you will help the Team Head shape and run the Foundation's programmes for women and gender equality. You will work with NGO partners to make sure the programmes reach the right people, visit project sites to see the work for yourself, and show the Board and funders what difference it is making. You will also manage budgets, supervise project staff, and raise problems early so they can be fixed quickly.
Responsibilities
- Help the Team Head plan, design and launch CSR programmes on women empowerment and gender equality.
- Review and process programme proposals from partner organisations, and manage budgets to meet yearly targets.
- Work closely with NGO and implementation partners so programmes run well, on time and within the rules.
- Visit field sites to track progress, check ground-level data and confirm that the right people are benefiting.
- Plan and run internal impact assessments, or work with outside agencies to measure long-term results.
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations, background notes and reports for Board meetings, CSR committee reviews and funders.
- Build relationships with stakeholders, and organise national roundtables, workshops and seminars on women's development.
- Work with the communications team to share case stories, photos and media updates about women beneficiaries.
- Act as the single point of contact for your projects, spotting risks and blockers and acting on them quickly.
- Supervise project staff, manage resources, and coordinate onsite and offsite activities.
- Write research papers, review timelines, support onboarding, and suggest new ideas to improve programmes.
Requirements
- Master of Social Work (MSW), or Master's degree in Women's Studies or Child Development
- At least 2 years of experience in women's empowerment or child development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong report-writing ability
- Good quantitative and analytical skills for project tracking, risk assessment, and evaluation
- Proactive problem-solving mindset, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in standard computer software applications
