IT for Change

IT for Change is a nonprofit based in Bengaluru that works to make sure digital technology serves fairness, equality and social justice. In education, it works closely with schools and teachers, helping them use technology to learn, create and share teaching resources. Its work puts teachers at the centre, so that children in their classrooms get a richer and more joyful learning experience. This role sits within IT for Change's Language Education through Audio-Story Pedagogy (LEAP) program, which helps children build language skills through the appeal of audio stories and supports teachers to create and use these stories in class.

Role

As District Coordinator, you will be the program's main link with schools across Chikkaballapur district. You will visit schools often, get to know head teachers and teachers, and help them use audio stories to grow children's English skills. You will also keep careful notes on what happens in classrooms and share regular updates with the program team, so the program keeps learning and improving.

Responsibilities

• Visit program schools across the district regularly and build active relationships with head teachers and teachers.
• Support teachers to develop children's English language skills through audio stories.
• Guide teachers as they create audio stories and use them in their classrooms.
• Document classroom experiences, challenges, teacher feedback and student engagement.
• Prepare monthly progress reports and share them with the program team.
• Coordinate with relevant departments and partner organizations.

Requirements

• You must be a resident of Chikkaballapur district.
• A graduate degree in any discipline is needed, and a B.Ed degree is preferred.
• You should be fluent in both Kannada and English.
• Basic knowledge of digital technologies is needed.
• You should be willing to travel to schools across the district, and having a two-wheeler with a valid driving licence is preferred.
• Experience in the education sector and an interest in working with children are a plus.
• Shortlisted candidates will complete a short assignment and attend an interview.
