United Way Mumbai is a nonprofit organisation that brings together individuals, corporates, and communities to drive meaningful social change across Mumbai. As part of the global United Way network, the Mumbai chapter works on education, livelihoods, health, and environmental sustainability, mobilising resources and partnerships to create lasting community impact.

Role

Support the planning and on-ground execution of United Way Mumbai's climate action and sustainability projects. This role involves working with communities, schools, government bodies, and corporate partners to drive measurable environmental impact and build long-term climate awareness and resilience across Mumbai.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute end-to-end project deliverables and operational plans under the guidance of the Manager
• Develop quarterly action plans and timelines to ensure smooth on-ground project implementation
• Manage relationships and coordinate with municipal departments, state bodies such as MPCB and the Forest Department, corporate partners, and NGOs
• Mobilise schools, colleges, NSS units, and citizen groups to participate in climate literacy and conservation drives
• Develop communication and awareness materials focused on climate action, carbon neutrality, and ecosystem conservation
• Monitor and evaluate project activities on the ground to ensure targets are met
• Prepare high-quality reports, maintain data records, and handle documentation for donor and internal submissions

Requirements

• Post-graduate or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Climate Change, Sustainable Development, or a related field
• 0 to 3 years of experience in managing environmental initiatives, CSR projects, or community outreach programmes
• Strong community mobilisation and outreach skills
• Excellent written and spoken communication in English and Hindi; Marathi is an added advantage
• Proficient in MS Office
• Organised, able to manage multiple tasks, and a strong team player
• Willing to travel extensively across Mumbai and suburban areas
• Genuine passion for environmental sustainability and climate action
