SELCO Foundation, a not-for-profit, engages in field-based R&D and ecosystem building for the development of decentralized renewable energy solutions that alleviate poverty in urban, rural, and tribal poor areas. The organization works across verticals such as energy access, built environment, health, skill development, energy entrepreneurs, and partners from various developmental sectors. As one of its priority development verticals, SELCO works to develop sustainable energy-driven solutions for agriculture, focused on specific value chains such as millets, rice, spice, tomato, potato, and agriculture cooling. This role sits within the Agriculture Innovation team, developing clean and efficient technologies that bring value to small and marginal farmers, entrepreneurs, FPOs, FPCs, and SHGs.

Role
As a Program Fellow – Knowledge in the Agriculture Innovation team, the candidate should have strong sectoral knowledge of agriculture-based livelihood systems, communication design, content development, research, and documentation skills. The role is expected to be entrepreneurial and adaptive to varying situations and organizational requirements, working closely with the Agriculture Innovation programmatic and implementation team to capture and disseminate learnings.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Agriculture Innovation programmatic and implementation team to capture learnings in a timely manner
- Work with data pieces of Agriculture Knowledge to develop innovation benchmarking decks and documentation for scale
- Support development of program-specific content, partner outreach, and communication through crisp documentation and engaging templates
- Assist, write, and translate content for organizational needs, including reports, presentations, and proposals
- Design engaging articles, curate reports, newsletters, website content, and blogs, editing existing content to improve readability
- Coordinate with partner organizations, end users, field coordinators, and consultants to gather qualitative and quantitative data
- Conduct quick research to substantiate documentation and develop research pitches for larger papers
- Derive meaningful insights from existing documentation and data sets for communication design
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in the development/agriculture sector
- Education background in Agriculture (BSc preferred), Mass Communication/Journalism, Development Studies, or MSW
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong networking capabilities and interpersonal skills for collaborating with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to process information and create compelling documentation, reports, and case studies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to perform field assessments and produce comprehensive reports
- Willingness to travel 2-5 days per month
- Languages: Kannada, English, Hindi
