Role

As Female Political Anchor, you will prepare content for interviews and talk with politicians, public officials and other guests for DMI Mission's media work. You will review content, keep every conversation fair and non-partisan, and take care of the planning and follow-up around each interview. You will report to the Director (Media and Program) and help the mission build open, trusted relationships with people in public life.

Responsibilities

• Prepare content and background research for interviews with politicians and other public figures.
• Interview politicians and other guests in a clear, fair and respectful way.
• Review content before it is shared.
• Build and keep non-partisan working relationships with guests who come for interviews and discussions.
• Arrange official appointments with guests and their offices.
• Prepare briefing notes ahead of meetings and interviews.
• Follow up on meetings and on commitments made during them.
• Keep clear and open records of official interviews and commitments.
• Maintain professional boundaries with all guests and contacts.
• Uphold DMI Mission's values in every conversation and meeting.

Requirements

• This role is open to women candidates.
• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Social Work, Development Studies, Public Relations, Sociology or a related subject.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in government liaison, public relations, community mobilisation, institutional coordination, advocacy or development-sector work.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Tamil and English
• Basic computer skills, including email and MS Office
• Open to female candidates only
