Role

The Grants Manager leads Good Business Lab's grants management function, overseeing the end-to-end management of the organization's grant portfolio across both the United States and India. As the central point of coordination between funders and internal teams, this role drives grant operations, strengthens systems and processes, and ensures grants are managed efficiently from award through closeout, while ensuring strong financial oversight, donor compliance, and effective collaboration across Research, Delivery, Finance, HR, Legal, and Leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end management of GBL's grant portfolio across the US and India, ensuring compliance with donor agreements and budgets
  • Develop and maintain robust grant management systems, trackers, and documentation
  • Lead post-award grant administration, including amendments, extensions, budget revisions, and grant closeout
  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for funders throughout the grant lifecycle
  • Lead financial oversight of the grant portfolio, including donor invoicing, payment tracking, and financial reconciliations
  • Monitor grant expenditures against approved budgets and identify potential financial risks
  • Lead coordination across Research, Delivery, Finance, HR, Legal, Operations, and Leadership for successful grant implementation
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of grants management systems, SOPs, templates, and documentation
  • Support proposal development with budgets, administrative documentation, and organizational information for new funding opportunities
  • Lead strategic projects that strengthen grants management and organizational effectiveness

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Public Policy, International Development, Economics, or a related field
  • 4-7 years of experience in grants management, donor management, project management, finance, or operations
  • Experience working with institutional donors, foundations, research organizations, or nonprofits preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, dashboards, and financial modeling
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Experience managing complex grant budgets and multi-donor financial tracking
  • Outstanding stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities
