Role
The HR Officer will manage end-to-end HR operations, compliance, and employee lifecycle processes for Heifer India, ensuring consistent implementation of HR policies while supporting talent acquisition, payroll and benefits administration, employee engagement, and performance management.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, confirmation, transfers, promotions, and separations
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are implemented consistently, and maintain compliant employee records
- Monitor compliance with statutory requirements, audits, and internal controls, and coordinate with external vendors and consultants
- Coordinate and manage end-to-end recruitment, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and offer management
- Track recruitment metrics (time-to-fill, hiring costs, candidate pipeline) and build talent pools for future needs
- Serve as the focal point for HRIS data management and coordinate monthly payroll inputs
- Administer employee benefits programs including insurance, wellness initiatives, and leave management
- Generate HR dashboards and reports on headcount, attrition, recruitment, and workforce demographics
- Act as a trusted point of contact for employee inquiries, and plan employee engagement and wellness initiatives
- Support performance management processes, coordinate training programs, and track learning participation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; postgraduate qualification or HR certification preferred
- 4-6 years of progressive HR experience across operations, employee lifecycle management, recruitment, compliance, and employee relations
- Knowledge of the NGO sector; familiarity with institutional funders for international development a plus
- Basic understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and regulatory requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with HRIS or payroll systems a plus
- Practical knowledge of local GAAP and fiscal statutes, with experience using accounting systems
