The Apprentice Project

The Apprentice Project works with children from low-income communities, mostly in government schools, to help them build life skills like creativity, problem solving and self-confidence. It offers hands-on learning in areas such as science, coding and art, and reaches many students through simple digital tools they can use at home. The aim is to help every child become a confident, self-driven learner who can shape their own future. This role sits within the curriculum and content team of The Apprentice Project's partnership with Mantra4Change, which creates learning material for middle school students.

Role

As a Video Editing Intern, you will make short Science homework videos in Hindi for students in Grades 6, 7 and 8. Each video helps a child understand an activity, gather the right materials, follow the steps and submit their work without needing an adult to guide them. You will write the script, build the visuals and edit the final video, working closely with the curriculum team to keep every lesson accurate, practical and easy to follow.

Responsibilities

• Read each Science activity, homework task or project brief and understand what students need to learn and do.
• Write simple, clear student-facing scripts in Hindi and English.
• Create and edit three Science homework videos in Hindi each week, one each for Grades 6, 7 and 8.
• Explain the challenge, materials, steps, expected output and how to submit, so students can finish the task on their own.
• Use simple visuals, diagrams, examples, animations and on-screen text to make ideas easy to follow.
• Keep every video matched to its Science concept and learning goal, with activities that are practical and right for the age group.
• Revise scripts and videos based on feedback from reviews, and make changes on time.
• Submit the final video, the script and the editable source file for each piece of work.

Requirements

• A student, fresh graduate or early-career candidate with a background in Science, Education, STEM, Engineering or a related field.
• Good understanding of Grades 6 to 8 Science concepts and the ability to explain them in simple language children can follow.
• Ability to write clear, student-friendly scripts in both Hindi and English.
• Basic to good video production and editing skills, including adding visuals, diagrams, animations and on-screen text.
• Prior experience in educational content creation, Science activities or video editing is preferred.
• Good visual communication and presentation skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to follow content guidelines.
• Based in Pune, open to feedback, and able to deliver three finished videos every week on schedule.
