Manager in Kolkata | Calcutta Foundation
Calcutta Foundation
Calcutta Foundation works to help women take every step towards financial independence. Its flagship programme, Apni Kutir, runs centres across West Bengal, Bihar, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. The Kutirs are built to bring the world to the women who come to them, and to connect those women to opportunities and experiences they have not had before. The approach is a full one, supporting women in every part of that journey rather than a single piece of it. This role sits within Calcutta Foundation's programme function, which plans, delivers and tracks the projects that reach these women on the ground.
Role
This is a hands-on coordination role that carries a project from start to finish. You will hold the timelines, deliverables, documentation and reporting for the projects assigned to you, and be the person stakeholders come to for answers. Much of the work is bringing teams together: programme, finance, monitoring and evaluation, operations and the field. You will also lead the coordination of programme and financial audits, baseline and endline assessments, and the regular monitoring that shows what the work is achieving.
Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact for assigned projects and manage regular communication and follow-ups with stakeholders.
- Coordinate project meetings, reviews, field visits and periodic updates.
- Build and maintain implementation plans, timelines, deliverable trackers and action points.
- Work with programme, finance, monitoring and evaluation, operations and field teams so deliverables are completed on time.
- Keep records of key communications, approvals, decisions and project developments.
- Coordinate and facilitate programme and financial audits for assigned projects.
- Maintain audit checklists, close documentation gaps with the relevant teams, and organise the responses and evidence needed during and after audits.
- Facilitate field verification and other requirements linked to programme audits.
- Support beneficiary data collection and make sure information from the field arrives complete and on time.
- Track project indicators, targets, beneficiary reach and implementation progress, and follow up on gaps or inconsistencies in the data.
- Support the monitoring and evaluation team in preparing assessment reports.
- Prepare periodic progress reports, project updates and presentations, and gather the data, photographs, testimonials and case studies that go with them.
- Keep all project records, financial documentation and approvals organised and audit-ready through the life of the project.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW), Development Studies, Public Administration or a related discipline.
- 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in operations, programme implementation, community engagement, partnerships or stakeholder management.
- Prior experience in the development or non-profit sector preferred.
- Strong ownership and execution mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel for field work, in and out of state.
Benefits
- Work directly with senior leadership and learn from them.
- Be part of a mission-driven organisation focused on women's empowerment.
- Opportunities for professional growth and skill development.
- A dynamic and collaborative work environment.
