Wipro Foundation

wipr-200kb.jpeg Wipro Foundation is a not-for-profit trust that carries out the corporate citizenship and CSR work of Wipro Limited. It runs programmes with a network of more than 200 NGO partners across education, environment, primary health care and disaster relief. Partners who receive grants are chosen through a careful due diligence process, so that money reaches organisations that can use it well and account for it honestly. The Foundation also helps its partners build stronger systems, not just deliver projects. This role sits within Wipro Foundation's programme finance function, which checks the financial health of partner organisations and looks after grants from selection through to closure.

Role

The Manager - Program Finance keeps grant money in safe hands. You will study the accounts, controls and compliance record of organisations applying for grants, and give the review committees a clear picture before a grant is approved. Once a grant is running, you will review reports, release funds on time, run the checks that keep governance sound, and sit alongside partner finance teams to help them improve. The work is equal parts scrutiny and support.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial due diligence of new and existing NGO partners before grant onboarding and at renewal.
  • Evaluate the accounting systems, internal controls, governance structures and financial practices of prospective partners.
  • Assess each partner's compliance status under Income Tax, FCRA and other statutory registrations.
  • Review organisational policies and processes to identify financial, operational, compliance and governance risks.
  • Prepare and present structured due diligence reports for internal review committees and management decisions.
  • Review annual financial reports and supporting documents from partners.
  • Release grant funds to partners on time, in line with agreement timelines.
  • Ensure grant funds are used fully and in line with the terms of the grant.
  • Update grant status and workflow on the grant management portal so records stay accurate.
  • Manage the financial side of assigned grants through their full life, up to closure.
  • Support partner organisations in strengthening their accounting systems and financial processes through ongoing advice and handholding.
  • Work with domain heads, project managers, finance, legal and other internal teams, and answer finance and compliance queries from inside and outside the organisation.

Requirements

  • MBA in Finance, M.Com, ICWA or an equivalent qualification.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in NGO finance, grant management or programme finance.
  • Sound understanding of NGO accounting and bookkeeping.
  • Working knowledge of grant budgeting and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance, including FCRA, Income Tax and CSR-related rules.
  • Experience coordinating audits and preparing donor reports.
  • Experience working with nonprofits, foundations or development sector institutions.
  • Experience engaging with programme teams, auditors, finance committees and partner organisations is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and financial review skills, with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to explain financial ideas in simple terms to people who do not work in finance.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to handle several grants and partners at the same time.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Willingness to travel to field locations and partner organisations as required.
  • Based in Bengaluru, with a hybrid working pattern as per organisation policy.
  • The engagement is a 12-month consultant contract, renewable based on performance.

Benefits

  • Compensation in the range of ₹15-20 LPA, set by profile and experience.
  • A hybrid working pattern, as per organisation policy.
  • Work across a network of more than 200 NGO partners in education, environment, health and disaster relief.
  • Close work with programme, legal and finance teams inside a large corporate foundation.
