Reap Benefit

Reap Benefit works to build skills and agency in young people so they can solve real climate and civic problems in their own communities. Through the Solve Ninja Movement, Reap Benefit activates young people across India to take local action on environmental and governance issues. So far, the organisation has activated over 1.2 lakh Solve Ninjas across 18 states, enabled more than 1 lakh civic actions, and partnered with 5 government bodies across 4 states.

Role

The Nagar Saathi Fellowship is a 6-month youth leadership programme running from July to December 2026, in partnership with Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), Assam. As a fellow, you will work on solid waste management and civic issues in your neighbourhood, run community action projects, and build hands-on leadership experience while engaging with citizens and local government officials.

Responsibilities

• Identify and work on local civic problems in your community, starting with solid waste management
• Plan and run community action projects and awareness campaigns
• Work directly with citizens and city officials to drive visible change in your neighbourhood
• Engage with government stakeholders to understand how local governance systems work
• Build your leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills through hands-on work

Requirements

• Aged between 18 and 25 years
• Currently a college student or recent graduate
• Based in or from Nagaon, Silchar, Tinsukia, or Nalbari in Assam
• Eager to work on civic and environmental issues in your community
• No prior experience in policy or governance needed as what matters most is your willingness to take action and learn
