Role

This role brings Quest's self-employment and gig work strategy to life on the ground. You will help young people move into work beyond regular salaried jobs, through small business, freelancing, and platform-based gig work. That means designing the journey a young person takes, building the support around them, running pilots in real places, and gathering evidence on what actually works. You will work closely with state teams, institutions, ecosystem partners, and youth themselves.

Responsibilities

• Support operationalisation of Quest's Self-Employment and Gig Pathway strategy across Youth Program interventions
• Design and strengthen learner journeys, transition pathways, and support structures for youth pursuing self-employment and gig work
• Develop implementation frameworks, SOPs, operational processes, and review systems for pilots
• Provide handholding support to youth exploring self-employment and gig work opportunities
• Support youth in identifying viable business, freelancing, platform-based, and livelihood opportunities
• Build and nurture relationships with Financial Institutions, Banks, District Industries Centres, incubation centres, and entrepreneurship support organisations
• Build partnerships with gig platforms, industry associations, and market linkage organisations
• Design and develop content, tools, and resources related to self-employment and gig work pathways
• Facilitate workshops, learning spaces, and state-level capacity-building initiatives
• Support implementation reviews, monitor program delivery, and contribute to evidence generation on pathway outcomes

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in youth livelihoods, employability, entrepreneurship, self-employment, or related social sector programs
• Exposure in designing and operationalising programs, not just implementing activities
• Demonstrated ability to manage multi-stakeholder partnerships involving NGOs, industry, or ecosystem partners
• Experience facilitating capacity-building workshops and developing learning resources for trainers or field teams
• Ability to translate strategy into implementation frameworks, SOPs, and scalable operational models
• Experience using data, implementation reviews, and evidence to improve program quality
• Strong project management skills, managing multiple priorities across states or geographies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including documentation and stakeholder presentations
