Role

As the Program Officer – Innovation & Playful Futures, you will design and deliver hands-on learning experiences through Quest Alliance's Maker's Garage and Playful Futures initiatives. You will mentor learners, facilitate maker sessions, develop learning resources, manage innovation spaces, and help create engaging STEM and maker education experiences for young people.

Responsibilities

• Design and facilitate learning sessions and experiences at Maker's Garage.
• Travel to project locations to conduct maker and innovation programmes.
• Develop learning resources, tinkering guides, and project templates.
• Maintain maker spaces, including robotics kits, 3D printers, electronics, and inventory.
• Design and execute hackathons, ideathons, and community innovation challenges.
• Mentor learners in developing prototypes and solving real-world problems.
• Build pathways for learners through bootcamps, exhibitions, and community projects.
• Work with outreach teams on planning, budgeting, implementation, and programme reviews.
• Analyse learner feedback and prepare reports for programme improvement and donor reporting.
• Ensure compliance with organisational systems and undertake regular field visits.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of hardware-software integration, IoT, sensors and microcontrollers.
• Working knowledge of Python, JavaScript, Blockly, or Scratch.
• Hands-on problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong facilitation, communication, documentation and coordination skills.
• Passion for learner-centred, play-based, and maker education.
• High ownership, adaptability and willingness to learn.
