Dream School Foundation (DSF)

Dream School Foundation is a non-profit organisation started in Bengaluru in 2005. It works to break cycles of socio-economic vulnerability through fair, high-quality education. The foundation works with children, their families, communities and wider society so that the most excluded children can stay in education from school all the way to university. It supports young people from school to livelihood, continuing up to the age of 24 so they can claim their rights to education and to steady, dignified work. This role sits within DSF's TYDE programme, Transformational Youth Development Engagement, which walks alongside young people as they move from school into higher education, skills and employment.

Role

The Programme Coordinator is the main point of connection between DSF and the students in the TYDE programme. You will build close, trusting relationships with students, understand what they hope for and what stands in their way, and stay with them as they find their path into higher education, skills training or work. Part of the role is practical coordination, keeping student records and progress current and working with mentors, volunteers, parents and partners. The other part is human, listening well, offering first-level emotional and social support, and telling students' stories in a way that shows what the programme changes.

Responsibilities

• Build steady, meaningful relationships with TYDE students and create a supportive space for them.
• Understand each student's aspirations, strengths and needs through regular one-to-one conversations.
• Provide first-level emotional and social counselling and connect students to further support when needed.
• Maintain individual student profiles and keep them current as each young person's situation changes.
• Help students map a pathway towards higher education, skills training and employment.
• Facilitate access to careers, courses, scholarships and other opportunities that match a student's goals.
• Track student development over time and follow up so that no student is left behind.
• Document student journeys and write stories that show the programme's impact.
• Build and sustain engagement with TYDE alumni.
• Coordinate with the TYDE team, mentors, volunteers, parents and external partners.
• Maintain student databases and progress trackers.
• Prepare periodic student progress updates and programme reports.

Requirements

• Graduate or postgraduate degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, Management, Communications or a related field.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in youth development, education, mentoring, counselling or student engagement in the social sector.
• Genuine enjoyment of working with young people and a commitment to their growth and success.
• Excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills.
• Empathy and an approachable manner that helps students trust you.
• Strong organisation, follow-up and coordination habits.
• Good writing skills and the ability to capture a compelling student story.
• Comfort using AI and other digital tools in daily work.
• Ability to keep accurate records, databases and progress trackers.
• Initiative, with the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
• Based in Bengaluru or willing to relocate there.
