IT for Change

it for change2 (1).jpeg IT for Change is a not-for-profit organisation working to end digital inequality and build fair, equal and people-led digital futures. It works through three programme areas: Gender and Digital Empowerment, Public EdTech, and Just Digital Governance. The Gender and Digital Empowerment programme works with adolescent girls across rural, semi-urban and urban Karnataka, both inside schools and in their communities. The programme is now growing its work in schools.

Role

This is a hands-on field role at the heart of the adolescent empowerment programme. The Project Associate will run curriculum sessions in Bengaluru schools, help build and use the programme's Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) systems, support reporting to funders, and create digital content that shows the programme's impact. The role links direct work with young people to the data, documentation and relationships that keep the programme going and growing. You will report to the Head of Gender and Digital Empowerment and work from the Bengaluru office three days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the adolescent empowerment curriculum and digital skilling sessions for girls and boys in Bengaluru schools.
  • Manage field work across schools, colleges and community settings, including day-to-day coordination.
  • Help build and use the programme's Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) systems.
  • Document project work so the programme's progress and impact are clearly recorded.
  • Contribute ideas to programme strategy and planning.
  • Develop digital resources, including audio and video, for the curriculum, toolkits and social media.
  • Support outreach with funders and peer organisations.
  • Own donor and funder reporting for one or more institutional partners, including written updates and data.
  • Track reporting timelines and compliance needs together with the programme lead.
  • Turn programme work into clear stories for funders and supporters.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate degree in Social Work, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Sociology, or a related field
  • 3 to 4 years of experience working with adolescent girls and young women
  • Proficient in Kannada and English, spoken and written, with mandatory Kannada typing
  • Comfortable using digital tools and open to learning new technology
  • Strong understanding of gender dynamics and adolescence, with a commitment to feminist values
  • Hands-on experience delivering curriculum or running activities with adolescents
  • Comfortable creating digital content and translating programme work into donor-facing narratives
  • Able to independently plan, execute, and own programme components end to end
  • Willingness to work from the Bengaluru office three days a week.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to contribute meaningfully to social change
  • Collaborative, mission-driven work environment
  • Scope for professional growth and leadership
  • Flexible, hybrid work model with three in-person office days a week
  • Competitive compensation package including health benefits
