It works to lift up underserved communities across India through initiatives such as Apna Ghar, Blood for Life, Patient Assistance Programs and Emerging Initiatives. Regional and state teams work closely to design, run and grow the work so it leads to real change on the ground. This role sits within Intas Foundation's Apna Ghar Transit Home project, which gives patients and their caregivers a safe place to stay while they travel for treatment.

Role

The Project Associate leads the day-to-day running of the Apna Ghar transit home in Coimbatore. This means keeping the home full and well run, caring for the needs of patients and the family members who come with them, and building steady working relationships with hospitals, doctors and service providers so that patients get what they need in time. The Foundation is looking for someone compassionate and committed who can hold this responsibility with care.

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall running of the transit home in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ensure the transit home stays fully occupied and is used well.
• Attend to the everyday needs of patients and their caregivers.
• Build and maintain good working relationships with hospitals, doctors and service providers.
• Coordinate with hospitals and doctors so that patients' requirements are met in a helpful and timely way.
• Lead a small team of service providers at the transit home.
• Arrange the resources the home needs and make sure they arrive on time.
• Maintain accurate financial and administrative records for the project.
• Supervise project activities and track that they stay on plan.
• Work with cross-functional teams across the Foundation's regional and state structure.
• Contribute to other CSR activities at the location.
• Travel as needed for the project, which takes up about 40% of the role.

Requirements

• MSW, MPH, MA in Social Science, or MBA.
• 1 to 2 years of work experience, preferably in the healthcare sector.
• Experience focused on cancer and other non-communicable diseases is preferred.
• A good understanding of the healthcare situation in the state.
• Familiarity with government programmes and schemes related to non-communicable diseases.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to supervise a project.
• Ability to supervise and support a small team of service providers.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial and administrative matters.
• Working knowledge of MS Office tools.
• Working knowledge of English.
• Proficiency in the local language.
• Willingness to travel for about 40% of the time.
