Role
The Project Coordinator will lead the STEM program on the ground in Wadagera Block, working closely with government education officials and schools. This role manages the STEM Facilitator, oversees daily field operations across Wadagera Block and Bangalore, and acts as the main point of contact for the project.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and field implementation of the STEM project
- Coordinate with the reporting manager to align project work with organizational goals
- Build strong relationships with education officials, school authorities, and local stakeholders
- Supervise daily field activities and manage vendors
- Maintain and update the project's MIS and handle monthly reporting and data collection
- Support communication through reports, blogs, case studies, photos, and videos
- Organize events, donor visits, and employee engagement activities
- Plan and facilitate teacher training sessions with the Education Department
- Organize student exposure visits and workshops with partner institutions
- Build the capacity of the STEM Facilitator and monitor their work
- Liaise with government departments, School Management Committees, and local leaders
- Manage project activities within approved budgets and report expenditure to the Regional Officer and Finance team
- Support other teams and partners to help meet organizational goals
- Travel as required for project needs
Requirements
- Postgraduate degree preferred; a background in Science, Social Work, or Development Studies is a plus
- 3 to 5 years of experience managing field-based projects
- Experience or strong interest in science and social development, especially in education
- Skilled in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and team management
- Experience managing budgets and financial reporting
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Understanding of education challenges, especially in STEM and digital learning
- Basic knowledge of civil infrastructure and IT-based learning tools
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills in English
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with rural communities
- Good facilitation and community mobilization skills
- Able to work independently in the field and solve problems as they come up
