Peepul is an education nonprofit working to transform government school systems across India so that every child can reach their full potential. Peepul partners closely with state and local governments to strengthen schools, build teacher and leader capacity, improve classroom practices, and advocate for better education policies. Currently working in Delhi and Madhya Pradesh, Peepul has directly supported over 6.6 million students, 2,73,000 teachers, and 2,400 school leaders across 90,000 government schools. Role

You will provide programme, coordination, and operational support to the Programme Manager - Gender, who is based in Delhi. Working from Bhopal, you will contribute to the implementation of gender mainstreaming initiatives across Peepul's education programmes in Madhya Pradesh, supporting capacity building, data management, stakeholder coordination, and reporting on gender equity work.

Responsibilities

• Support the integration of gender-responsive and inclusive approaches into programme activities and operations
• Assist in reviewing classroom practices, community environments, and learning materials through a gender and inclusion lens
• Provide logistical and administrative support for gender-related initiatives
• Collect and maintain sex-disaggregated data from programmes
• Prepare and update trackers, dashboards, and progress reports on the Gender Action Plan
• Contribute to donor and leadership reporting on gender-related work
• Coordinate workshops, sensitisation sessions, and trainings on gender equity
• Develop case studies, documentation, and awareness materials to highlight gender integration in programmes
• Support internal and external communication on gender work
• Liaise with internal teams to gather inputs for gender projects
• Coordinate with external consultants, partners, and government stakeholders as needed
• Track project deliverables, budgets, and timelines
• Support smooth execution of activities under the Gender Policy and Action Plan

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in project management with exposure to gender mainstreaming, social inclusion, or equity-focused programmes
• Good understanding of gender concepts, intersectionality, frameworks, and tools, particularly as they apply to government systems and education
• Familiarity with the Indian education system is highly desirable
• Understanding of how gender intersects with factors such as poverty, caste, disability, and geography as barriers to learning and participation
• Strong written and spoken communication skills in English and Hindi
• Proactive, reliable, collaborative, and comfortable working independently in dynamic environments
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
