Role

Peepul is hiring a Project Manager – Gender Mainstreaming in Madhya Pradesh. This full-time role focuses on integrating gender-responsive approaches into education programmes through project coordination, stakeholder engagement, monitoring and capacity building. You will work closely with the Programme Manager – Gender to advance equity and inclusion across government education systems.

Responsibilities

• Support the integration of gender-responsive and inclusive approaches across programmes.
• Review classroom practices, learning materials and community environments through a gender and inclusion lens.
• Coordinate gender-related programme activities and operational processes.
• Collect and manage gender-disaggregated programme data.
• Prepare trackers, dashboards and progress reports.
• Support donor and leadership reporting on gender initiatives.
• Coordinate workshops, training sessions and gender sensitisation programmes.
• Develop case studies, documentation and communication materials.
• Collaborate with internal teams, government stakeholders, consultants and partners.
• Track project timelines, budgets and deliverables under the Gender Policy and Action Plan.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, International Development or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• 4–6 years of experience in project management with exposure to gender mainstreaming, social inclusion or equity-focused programmes.
• Understanding of gender frameworks, intersectionality and inclusion practices.
• Familiarity with the Indian education system is desirable.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi.
• Proactive, collaborative and able to work independently in dynamic environments.
