The organisation supports community-made products, creative experiences, workshops, and social impact projects that grow from and give back to the community.
Role
Drive sales, partnerships, and outreach for community-made products, workshops, experiences, and social impact initiatives. This role involves building lasting relationships with local businesses, hotels, tour operators, and corporate organisations to create market opportunities for community programs and products.
Responsibilities
- Promote and sell community-made products to individuals, retailers, and businesses
- Build partnerships with hotels, cafes, stores, tour operators, and corporate organisations
- Support the promotion and sale of ticketed events, workshops, and experiences
- Identify new business opportunities and potential customers
- Maintain relationships with existing partners and clients
- Assist with quotations, follow-ups, and sales reporting
- Represent aikyam at meetings, exhibitions, and community events
- Work closely with community members, facilitators, and project teams
Requirements
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Interest in community development, social enterprises, and local livelihoods
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Comfortable meeting clients and conducting field visits
- Basic computer skills including email, spreadsheets, and social media
- Previous experience in sales, marketing, hospitality, tourism, or business development is an advantage
- Based in Fort Kochi or Mattancherry, or willing to relocate to Fort Kochi
- Familiarity with the local tourism, hospitality, or business ecosystem is preferred
