Kotak Education Foundation (KEF) is a Mumbai-based nonprofit set up in 2007 as the CSR implementing arm of Kotak Mahindra Group. For nearly two decades, KEF has worked to improve education outcomes for children and youth from low-income families. Its work spans foundational literacy and numeracy, teacher capacity building, school leadership, digital learning, English communication skills, and scholarships. KEF works closely with state governments across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Goa, and is moving toward driving district and state-level education transformation at scale.
Role
You will lead the implementation of KEF's Government Schools Programme across assigned districts in Maharashtra. This is a senior, field-connected role that brings together programme management, teacher training, content development, data review, and government engagement to improve learning outcomes in public schools.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the rollout of programme activities across assigned districts and government schools in Maharashtra
- Contribute to programme planning tools including Annual Operating Plans, Work Breakdown Structures, SOPs, timelines, trackers, and review mechanisms
- Ensure programme activities are executed on time, to quality, and with the desired learning outcomes
- Design and facilitate teacher trainings, workshops, orientations, review meetings, and capacity-building sessions on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) and other programme areas
- Work closely with District In-Charges, school leaders, and teachers to strengthen classroom-level teaching and learning practices
- Conduct regular school and classroom visits to observe teaching, identify gaps, and provide direct mentoring and support
- Turn field observations, classroom evidence, and teacher feedback into practical recommendations for content and programme improvement
- Design, review, and refine teacher support materials, training modules, classroom resources, observation tools, and review formats
- Ensure all academic content is practical, classroom-focused, and aligned with FLN principles and programme goals
- Review and analyse programme data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement
- Prepare analytical reports, programme reviews, presentations, case studies, and progress updates for internal and external stakeholders
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government bodies including SCERT, DIETs, and district and block-level officials
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment, communication, and overall programme quality
- Represent KEF in meetings, consultations, and review forums as required
Requirements
- 10 to 12 years of experience in education programme implementation, preferably in government school contexts
- Strong understanding of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) principles and classroom-level instructional practices
- Proven experience in designing and facilitating teacher training and capacity-building programmes
- Ability to develop practical content, training modules, and support materials for teachers and school leaders
- Comfortable analysing programme data and preparing clear, evidence-based reports and presentations
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams across districts
- Willingness to travel regularly across Maharashtra
