Tattle builds technology to understand and respond to misinformation, aiming to scale civic efforts against it. The team works on machine learning tools to classify multilingual content, detect hate speech, and build web scrapers that source content from chat apps and social media across India. Tattle is a fully open source project, is fully remote, and values interdisciplinary thinking and flexible, async work.
Role
This is an entry level engineering role supporting the team with data analysis and front end application development. It's a fast paced, hands on role suited for someone who enjoys upskilling quickly and is curious about the intersection of technology and social processes.
Responsibilities
- Support the engineering team with data analysis tasks
- Build and maintain front end applications
- Work with tools like Jupyter, Pandas, and Excel for data analysis
- Contribute to projects involving machine learning, web scraping, and multiplayer applications
- Collaborate with the team on Elixir, JavaScript, and Python based systems
- Work with Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS infrastructure as needed
Requirements
- 0-1 years of experience in software engineering
- Familiarity with Elixir, JavaScript, or Python
- Basic exposure to data analysis tools like Jupyter, Pandas, or Excel
- Interest in Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS services
- Ability to upskill quickly on the job
- Interest in technology's interaction with social processes
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, async team
