Shishu Sarothi is a Guwahati-based centre for rehabilitation and training for children and young adults with multiple disabilities. The team works across therapy, education, and community support to help every child grow, communicate, and participate in daily life with dignity. They bring together specialists from different fields to provide holistic, child-centred care.

Role

Assess and support children and young adults with speech, language, and communication difficulties as part of a multidisciplinary team. This role involves direct therapy, parent guidance, and close collaboration with other specialists to support each child's overall development.

Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, communication, feeding, and swallowing difficulties alongside related developmental challenges
• Develop, carry out, and monitor individual therapy plans based on each child's needs
• Use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) strategies to help children communicate more effectively
• Provide therapy for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities, - Cerebral Palsy, and other developmental conditions
• Conduct parent counselling sessions and offer guidance for home-based practice
• Keep accurate therapy records, progress notes, and documentation up to date
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide well-rounded support for each child

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech and Hearing or Speech-Language Pathology from a recognised institution
• 0 to 1 year of experience; freshers with the right skills and attitude are welcome to apply
• Registration with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) is preferred
• Familiarity with AAC tools and strategies is an advantage
• Prior experience working with children with developmental disabilities is a plus
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
• Ability to work well within a team environment
