Language and Learning Foundation (LLF) is a New Delhi-based non-profit organization with the vision of enhancing equitable student learning, focused on building strong foundational literacy and numeracy skills in children's own language and additional languages. As a system-focused and impact-driven organization working at scale, LLF collaborates with state governments to develop and implement high-quality FLN programmes and builds commitment and capacity in the system to sustain them independently.

Role
The State Gender Coordinator will coordinate and facilitate gender-inclusive programming in LLF's state FLN & MLE initiatives, developing and implementing a scalable gender-responsive classroom model, supporting government agencies in creating gender-inclusive learning materials and training, and leading training and capacity building efforts across state, district, and block-level stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Review existing materials for gender biases and involve stakeholders to develop inclusive guidelines
- Coordinate with Academic, Monitoring, and teacher capacity building units to imbue gender responsiveness in active projects
- Support state-level Samagra Shiksha and government agencies in creating gender-inclusive learning materials and training
- Lead design development and implementation of a gender-responsive classroom model (Demo-G), end-to-end
- Coordinate the design and facilitation of gender training for project staff, partners, and stakeholders
- Facilitate joint planning and field visits with district and block-level education department teams
- Coordinate quarterly learning and work planning sessions, and conduct monthly reviews of annual plans
- Manage data of all assessments and analyze findings in consultation with the state team
- Design data collection tools and lead periodic field studies and classroom observations with a gender lens
- Supervise a team of Project Coordinator and Block Coordinators, mentoring and reviewing performance
- Maintain liaison with the Gender Coordinator at Samagra Shiksha and other state-level officials including SCERT and SIEMAT
- Represent LLF at state and national education forums
Requirements
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in Elementary Education or other development-related fields; specialization in Gender Studies preferable
- Minimum 4 years of progressively responsible experience in gender-responsive programming in education
- Experience in curriculum and material review with a gender lens, and developing gender-responsive teaching and learning materials
- Experience working with government functionaries and partners on gender equality and women's empowerment
- Proficiency in communicating, reading, and writing in the official state language; additional languages preferred
