Pratham is one of India's largest education nonprofits, working for over 30 years to improve learning outcomes for children and young people. Each year, Pratham reaches more than 6 million children and youth across 25 states and Union Territories through direct community programs and partnerships with state and district governments. Its work spans early learning, girls' and women's education, and youth skilling.
Pratham's Measurement, Monitoring, and Evaluation (MME) team was set up in 2013 to bring structure and consistency to how data is collected, analysed, and used across programs. Today, the team works across 22 states and plays a central role in helping everyone at Pratham, from field instructors to state leaders, make decisions based on real data and evidence.
Role
You will strengthen data collection, monitoring, and feedback systems for Pratham's Direct Program in Gujarat. This is a field-facing role that combines data management, team training, and on-ground support to help the program run smoothly and use evidence effectively.
Responsibilities
- Support the design and setup of data collection, data management, monitoring, and feedback systems for the program
- Train the implementation team on data collection formats, Android apps, and online and offline data entry tools
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor program implementation and support the field team
- Share timely, practical feedback with the implementation team on program and data issues
- Ensure data is collected, entered, and verified accurately and on time
- Help analyse and report on collected data for state and central teams
- Build the capacity of state team members to understand and use data for decision-making
- Support internal pilots, surveys, and evaluations across different locations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any relevant discipline; outstanding candidates without formal qualifications may also be considered
- At least 2 years of field experience, preferably with Pratham or ASER; motivated freshers with relevant skills will also be considered
- Proficient in MS Office, especially MS Excel and spreadsheets
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to give clear, useful qualitative feedback
- Good written and spoken communication skills in English, Hindi, or Gujarati; working knowledge of Gujarati is a strong advantage
- Interested in the social sector and comfortable using data to drive program decisions
- Good at planning, managing time, and working independently
- Willing to travel to different program locations
- Comfortable engaging with a range of stakeholders and sharing feedback with them
