Role

The STEM Facilitator is a field based role supporting the rollout of Atal Tinkering Labs across schools in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Ahmedabad. You’ll run hands on STEM and tinkering sessions for students in government schools across Hyderabad, Chennai, and Ahmedabad, helping them build problem solving and innovation skills through Atal Tinkering Labs, while supporting teachers and tracking progress on the ground.

Responsibilities

  • Run hands on, project based STEM and tinkering sessions in ATL/STEM labs, guiding students to build projects, prototypes, and take part in innovation challenges
  • Make sure planned activities are carried out on time as per the project plan, and help schools make good use of their labs, kits, and equipment
  • Support teachers in adopting hands on, experiential STEM teaching methods through demonstrations, training sessions, and regular handholding
  • Help keep ATL/STEM labs ready and well maintained, and maintain basic inventory and usage records
  • Identify and mentor STEM Clubs and Innovation Teams in assigned schools
  • Track implementation progress across schools, maintaining attendance, activity, and lab usage records
  • Share regular school visit and activity reports with the Project Coordinator
  • Document student projects, success stories, case studies, and photos from the field
  • Flag implementation challenges early and work with the Project Coordinator to resolve them

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field (preferably Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronics, or Mechatronics)
  • 1.5 to 4 years of experience in STEM facilitation, Atal Tinkering Labs, robotics, science teaching, makerspaces, or related areas
  • Experience working with government school systems is an advantage
  • Good understanding of ATL and STEM concepts and experiential learning
  • Hands on knowledge of robotics, IoT, coding, electronics, DIY kits, or 3D printing
  • Ability to engage and mentor both students and teachers
  • Strong communication, coordination, documentation, and reporting skills
  • Willingness to travel frequently to assigned schools and districts, and take part in STEM events and exhibitions
