TARQ Foundation works on school education and skilling in India, bringing practical science and technology learning into classrooms that do not usually get it. Its programmes set up STEM and robotics labs inside partner schools, and put trained facilitators alongside students so that learning happens through building things rather than only reading about them. The work runs across several states, from small towns like Pilibhit to large cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru. Teachers and school leaders are part of the work too, so that a lab keeps being used after a session ends. This role sits within TARQ Foundation's STEM programme team, which builds the learning modules and delivers them directly in partner schools.

Role

The STEM Trainer designs the curriculum for robotics, basic AI, coding and electronics, and then teaches it face to face with school students. It is a field-heavy job: most of the week is spent in school labs and classrooms, helping young people build projects and prototypes with STEM kits and robotics tools. The same person who writes the module is the one who sees how it lands with students, and improves it from what happens on the ground.

Responsibilities

• Design structured STEM modules covering robotics, basic AI, coding and electronics.
• Develop project-based lesson plans, classroom activities and learning resources.
• Create simple blended learning content such as worksheets and short digital or video modules.
• Conduct interactive STEM sessions in school labs and classrooms.
• Guide students as they build projects, prototypes and real-world applications.
• Run hands-on learning using STEM kits and robotics tools.
• Adapt the way sessions are delivered to suit different student levels and school settings.
• Support the setup and everyday use of STEM and robotics labs in partner schools.
• Ensure kits and equipment are handled and maintained properly.
• Coordinate with teachers and school leadership so programmes run smoothly.
• Orient teachers on how to use the STEM lab themselves.
• Track student progress through projects and activities, and refine the curriculum from that feedback.

Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of experience in STEM or robotics training, or in school-based programmes.
• Background in Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience working directly with school students.
• Strong hands-on skills with robotics kits and electronics.
• Coding ability in Scratch, Python or Arduino.
• Comfort designing curriculum and lesson plans, not only delivering them.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with a learner-centered way of teaching.
• Ability to engage, motivate and mentor students across different age groups.
• High adaptability in field-based settings, where schools and student levels vary.
• Willingness to travel extensively to partner schools.
• A genuine interest in education, skilling and social impact.
