Arpan Seva Sansthan
Arpan Seva Sansthan is a non-profit organisation working on sustainable integrated development since 1996. It was formed by a team of young agricultural professionals with the purpose of ensuring community access to secured livelihood opportunities.
Since its inception, Arpan has been committed to serving the rural community and bringing about positive societal changes. Following the principle of "Leave No One Behind," Arpan works for the cause and care of deprived rural societies, empowering children, young adults, women, and seniors through a range of relevant programmes.
Under the leadership of Dr. Subh Karan Singh, Arpan has grown from a 20-person team to 500+ members dedicated to sustainable development. The organisation's programming is aligned with the SDGs, using the NITI Aayog Indicators Framework and MoPR 9 Sankalp as its guiding structure.
Arpan has a strong presence in 5 states Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh and monitoring reach across 9 states. It has an extensive human resource pool of 250 multidisciplinary professionals including agriculture engineers, economists, livelihood and sustainability experts, WASH experts, M&E specialists, and community mobilisers
Arpan works across five integrated thematic areas, all rooted in rural community development:
- Natural Resource Management Water, land, forest, animal, and community resource conservation and management. From 2008 to 2015, Arpan implemented watershed development projects covering 7,100 hectares and increased 4,200 hectares of additional irrigated area through Community Lift Irrigation Schemes and small irrigation dams.
- Water & Sanitation (WASH) Promoting safe drinking water access, behaviour change communication, toilet construction, and solid-liquid waste management. Won the national top prize for water work (see awards below).
- Livelihood Enhancement Farm-based programmes (agriculture, horticulture, dairy, goatry, poultry) and non-farm skill building for youth and women, with forward and backward market linkages. Includes FPO formation and market access through Rural Haats.
- Education Quality education support, school infrastructure strengthening (smart classrooms, toilets, repairs), and child enrolment and retention programmes.
- Health & Nutrition Maternal, child and adolescent health; nutrition and malnutrition management; AIDS prevention; immunisation outreach; and health camps in remote villages.

Arpan actively recruits professionals in agriculture, livelihoods, WASH, health, education, M&E, community mobilisation, and project management. Positions are primarily based in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
