Based in Mumbai, with a team of over 150 dedicated professionals, Arpan is India's largest non-profit providing CSA Prevention and Intervention services for both children and adults.

As a thought leader in CSA Prevention and Intervention, Arpan drives policy and systemic change at the local, state, and national levels through advocacy and research. Founded by Pooja Taparia in 2006, starting with a team of just 2 people in Mumbai, Arpan has grown into one of the world's largest non-profits addressing child sexual abuse, with Arpan's thought leadership and advocacy contributing to the Indian government formalising CSA prevention concepts into the national life skills curriculum.

• Personal Safety Education (PSE): Arpan's flagship school-based programme equipping children and adolescents (ages 4-18) with age-appropriate knowledge and skills to recognise and respond to unsafe situations.

• Teacher & Parent Training: Training and empowering teachers and parents with the knowledge, attitude, and skills needed to prevent and address CSA effectively.

• Healing & Intervention: Providing counselling and support services for CSA survivors, helping stop abuse and heal victims.

• #ProtectedByPOCSO Campaign: A bold public awareness campaign confronting child sexual abuse, supported by public figures like actress Vidya Balan, including a unique school "uniform installation" project.

• The Hollow Tree Installation: A public awareness installation breaking the silence around CSA by sharing survivor stories.

• E-Learning Portal: A free, interactive, self-paced personal safety education platform that has expanded Arpan's reach beyond India to countries like the Philippines and Guatemala.

• ChangemakerLab for Schools: A programme run in partnership with Ashoka India and Piramal Foundation, reimagining teachers' roles from content deliverers to changemakers.

Impact

Since 2007, Arpan has impacted over 20.3 million children and adults, with 18,256,527 children and 2,125,696 adults reached through its programmes. The organisation has received 10 National and 2 International Awards for its exemplary work, and has been featured by outlets including the BBC. Arpan's founder, Pooja Taparia, has led the organisation for nearly two decades, growing it from a 2-person team into a globally recognised thought leader in CSA prevention.
