Role
The Director of Strategy is a senior leadership role designed to bridge the gap between high-level government relations and organizational growth. You will serve as a strategic partner to the Country Director, acting as a Chief of Staff while leading efforts in AI transformation, communications, and national partnerships to expand our impact.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior officials in central ministries like MoHFW and NITI Aayog.
- Represent the organization in policy discussions and government consultations to shape public health practices.
- Lead the development of the organization’s growth strategy, including expanding programs to new states.
- Oversee the internal and external communications strategy to build a strong, credible brand narrative.
- Act as Chief of Staff to manage leadership priorities, facilitate board meetings, and ensure team accountability.
- Drive the adoption of AI tools across the organization to improve productivity and program delivery.
- Mentor mid-level staff to build a strong internal leadership pipeline.
Requirements
- A minimum of 12 years of professional experience in strategy, public health, or government relations.
- Strong existing network within the Indian central government and a deep understanding of health systems.
- Proven ability to lead complex projects and translate high-level strategy into everyday action.
- Excellent communication skills in English; ability to write policy briefs and high-impact reports.
- Technical comfort with AI tools and data-driven decision-making.
- Soft skills: Exceptional leadership, cultural sensitivity, networking, and the ability to navigate high-stakes environments.
