Doctors For You (DFY)
Doctors For You (DFY) was founded in 2007 by doctors, medical students, and like-minded individuals with a vision of "Health for All." It started as a platelet donation and awareness drive to manage outbreaks of Dengue, Leptospirosis, and Malaria in Mumbai, and has since grown into the leading medical humanitarian organization in the country.
DFY is a pan-India humanitarian organization with international presence, working in disaster-hit zones and focusing on providing medical care to vulnerable communities during both crisis and non-crisis situations including emergency medical aid to people affected by natural disasters, conflicts, and epidemics.
The organization has more than 1,000 members and 2,000 registered volunteers who are ready to respond in crisis situations following a disaster. Headquarters: Mumbai, Maharashtra
DFY works across six core programme areas:
- Public Health & Nutrition: Strengthening public healthcare systems, managing TB and malnutrition programmes, maternal and child health, cancer care (Project Aastha), and running nutrition centres in Bihar and other states.
- Emergency Relief & Response: DFY is building a world-class Disaster Response Team capable of responding within 48 hours of any disaster across the Indian subcontinent. They have responded to floods, earthquakes, cyclones, and ethnic violence across India.
