Founded in 2008, ARMMAN is a Mumbai-based nonprofit that uses mobile health technology to reduce maternal and child mortality and morbidity in India. Through a technology plus human touch approach, ARMMAN works directly with pregnant women and mothers to improve their health-seeking behaviour, while building the capacity of health workers at every level to ensure timely care and referral of high-risk cases during pregnancy and infancy. To date, ARMMAN's programmes have reached over 80 million women and 5,40,000 health workers across 27 states. The organisation has received the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship 2020 and the MIT Elevate Prize 2021, and has been supported by funders including Co-Impact, Google.org, and USAID.
Role
You will support the financial and compliance aspects of ARMMAN's grants and donations. Working closely with the Resource Mobilisation, Finance, and Programme teams, you will help prepare budgets, track fund utilisation, maintain donor records, support audits, and ensure timely compliance across grant management processes.
Responsibilities
- Support donor due diligence processes and financial assessments
- Enter and maintain donor leads, proposals, and grant data in the donor management system, ensuring accuracy and timely updates
- Keep ARMMAN's organisational profile, programme details, and documents up to date on donor-facing platforms such as Guidestar, Candid, and GiveIndia
- Share donation receipts with funders and maintain related records
- Help prepare project budgets and financial inputs for grant proposals, including budget structuring, phasing, and alignment with donor requirements
- Serve as the first point of contact for programme teams on budget-related questions
- Maintain a repository of compliance documents including FCRA, Income Tax, 80G, 12A, and CSR-related records
- Handle basic compliance queries from internal teams and donors and share relevant documents in a timely manner
- Compile data and documents for internal, statutory, and donor audits
- Support fund transfer processes by providing necessary information to donors and the finance team
- Track grant-wise budgets, expenditures, and fund utilisation and flag deviations or delays to the reporting manager
- Support documentation of SOPs, templates, and financial guidelines for fundraising and compliance
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, CFA, Social Work, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in the social or development sector
- Knowledge of grant management, donor compliance, and statutory requirements including FCRA, 80G, and 12A
- Strong understanding of budgeting, financial tracking, and grant utilisation reporting
- Proficient in MS Excel and Google Sheets; familiarity with CRM tools, especially Zoho CRM, is an advantage
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Hindi
- Strong documentation, record-keeping, and follow-up skills with high attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and coordinate across teams and external stakeholders
