Role

The Associate, Acquisitions will support the Development team in finding, building relationships with, and caring for new donors across many fundraising streams, including corporates, foundations, high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), and newer financing models. This is a generalist role suited to someone who enjoys research, storytelling, relationship-building, and getting things done. You will get hands-on exposure to end-to-end fundraising, work closely with teams across the organisation, and build donor relationships that support Teach For India's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify potential donors across corporates, foundations, HNIs, and other funding sources
  • Help develop tailored value propositions grounded in Teach For India's vision, programs and impact
  • Support donor relationships from first outreach through proposal submission and follow-up
  • Draft and edit donor materials such as proposals, concept notes, pitch decks, impact reports, and key emails
  • Respond to incoming leads and help build relationships with partners and senior stakeholders
  • Plan and support donor engagements, including meetings, events, and site visits
  • Coordinate with Programs, Impact, and Communications teams to gather data and stories for donor conversations
  • Track renewals, reporting deadlines, and other stewardship touch points for existing donors
  • Maintain accurate donor records on Salesforce and shared drives
  • Track progress against fundraising goals and help prepare pipeline updates
  • Build and maintain proposal repositories, donor trackers, and learning documents
  • Support the selection process for new Fellows and assist with other special projects as needed
  • Volunteer in classrooms regularly to stay connected to the organisation's work

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any stream with 2+ years of full-time work experience, ideally in an external-facing role involving proposals and reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyse information and build clear narratives for external audiences
  • Ability to manage time well and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Good project and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and collaborate across teams
  • Commitment to Teach For India's mission, values, and to accuracy and attention to detail
  • High levels of integrity, accountability, and drive
  • Previous experience in writing, editing or drafting roles is a plus
  • An entrepreneurial and innovative approach to work is a plus
  • Teach For India Fellowship experience is preferred
